Due to the devastation caused by humanoids, the gods of nature have decided to engulf the world in natures embrace wiping out the vermin that destroyed it. Only those who follow the strict rules of nature are allowed to live in peace with the gods, the rest will feel the wrath of the Everbloom.

Lolth's Dominion

After the cataclysm the Drow elves saw their chance to rise up and take the overworld for themselves, this move brought the attention of many gods who previously had affiliations with Lolth and her drow, now with Lolth assuming direct controls many gods of the underdark see this as their chance to gain new power.

Epsilon

After the death of Mystra, and the arrival of the eternal eclipse, scholars and wizards banded together with the aid gods who wanted to preserve the old world. The gods of Epsilon help those whom feel lost and out of place in this new and dangerous world, they fight to uphold the balance and return Faerun to the way it was before the Eclipse.

After decades of being Faeruns resident bad guys, the necromancers and undead of Thay had a stroke of great fortune when the eclipse hit, rendering the world in eternal darkness it gave the undead and the lycanthropes the possibility of rapidly expanding.
